Building Services I (Technischer Ausbau I)

Bachelor - 3rd semester - compulsory subject -2 credits

Aims:

Aim of the module is - in addition to the communication of basic knowledge about the individual technologies - that students develop an understanding for the interaction of technical systems with the building design. This aplies both to the conceptual level (integrated building and energy concept) and to the further detailing concerning the required space and interfaces with the construction. Topics of the module "Technical Building Services 1" are heating, ventilation and cooling / air-conditioning. Energy supply and energy concepts for buidlings, heating technology with focus on the use of renewable energies and cogeneration, natural and mechanical ventilation (with heat recovery) as well as various approaches to passive and active cooling are discussed in detail.

  • energy concepts: energy optimized design, energy concepts, "Passive House" standard, zero emission buildings and settlements
  • German energy standard EnEV: requirements, evaluation of buildings, calculation routine for residential buildings
  • heating: requirements (comfort), heat generation, distribution and supply
  • ventilation: requirements (air quality), natural ventilation,  mechanical ventilation with(out) heat recovery
  • air-conditioning: requirements (comfort), passive cooling, mechanical air-conditioning

Frequency:

Each academic year, winter term
