Sound insulation and room acoustics (Schallschutz und Raumakustik)

Bachelor - 5th semester - optional subject - 2 credits

 

Aims:

Aim of the module is to show the students the relevance of sound-technical and room acoustic aspects within the building design and the building construction. Due to the high level of practical relevance students learn the skills to develop sound technical solutions in their own projects. In this module basics of sound insulation and room acoustics are communicated to the students. Contents are on the one hand physical basics of sound propagation, properties and contruction details of building parts in lightweight and solid construction as well as building service engineering concerning the sound insulation. Furthermore room acoustic questions for different types of buildings are discussed.

 

Frequency:

Each academic year, winter term.

 

Academic achievment and examination:

Lecture course and oral examination in groups of two.
