Fire prevention in buildings (Brandschutz)

Bachelor - 6th semester - elective course -  2 ECTS

 

Aims:

The aim of the module is to communicate the basics that are important for architects to the students and to sensitize them to the advantages of an early developed fire prevention concept concerning the permit and the costs for the building owner. A one-day practical seminar in a state firefighting school supplements the knowledge by personal experience with pracitcal examples. In this module basics of construction and designing concerning the fire protection are communicated with the help of practical examples.Topics are, among other things, material and component properties, fire altert technique, fire extinguishing systems and flues, smoke and fire compartments, escape routes and fire prevention concepts.

 

Rotation of Module:

Each academic year, summer term.

 

Form of Learning and Examination:

Lecture course, oral examination in groups of two.
