Energy- and indoor climate concepts - elective subject - 2 ETCS

Content:

Aim is to impart the latest findings and technologies in the area of energy effiency in buildings, based on the basic subjects in the 1st and 4th semester. The students should recognize that a high "building performance" is the result of a integrated building and energy concept. With the practical exercise during the semester students should learn to implement their knowledge. Ths should open new specific fields of work for architects. The contents of the module energy efficient buildings include innovative measures for thermal protection of buildings, for passive solar energy and for ventilation technology. With foucs on  non-residential buildings also concepts and technologies for passive cooling and for (daylight) lighting are being dealt with. New methods for regenerative provision of heat and electrical energy point out the course towards emission-free energy concepts.

Rotation of Module:

Each academic year, winter term.

Form of Lesson and Examination:

Lecture course. Project during the semester (in written form) and oral examination.
